Syria's Final Withdrawal

Lebanon celebrated today as the final withdrawal of Syrian troops was completed. While concerns remain about infiltration by Syrian agents in the Lebanese government, the possibility of sectarian violence and the elections scheduled for next month, it is almost universally agreed that the effective pressure that led to the withdrawal has weakened the Syrian regime and emboldened democrats throughout the Middle East.
