Let me tell ya 'bout my best friend

The American press seemed genuinely amazed this week when, despite some high level sniping, President Bush and President Putin got together in Moscow to celebrate 60 years of Soviet domination of Asia and Europe. I don't understand the bewilderment at their friendship. They are both tin pan dictators with a penchant for interfering in the activities of other countries, using the courts, legislature and police to consolidate power and silence critics, killing innocents for nationalistic goals, and, of course, they both pine for the return of the Soviet Union...Bush just wants expanded further west...to say...Seattle and Burbank.
