Implant vote proves that the FDA is run by boobs

The FDA has long been a favorite target for us small government types as a completely pointless, ineffectual, self-serving sacred cow of a department that not only doesn't do what it purports to do, but more often then not makes matters worse for everyone involved. Today's FDA manages to simultaneously serve as the lap dog for pharmaceutical interests and prevent potentially life improving medicines and procedures from reaching the market, all while dramatically increasing the price of everything. Rarely has the corruption and incompetence been more prominently on display as it was last week when it finally voted on the contentious debate over silicone implants. The results left almost everyone scratching their heads. Dale Steinreich of the Mises Institute lays it all out for you.
